How Ludington House is responding…
We pray you’re all feeling well during this “COVID” season. We are doing well and feeling very thankful. We had a pretty good summer considering the stay-at-home order in the spring and closing a couple of rooms now and then to allow for more social distancing. Now that the number of cases is on the rise once again, we are not promoting events or group stays in the near future. Rather we are focusing our marketing efforts on packages that encourage people to enjoy the outdoors, or enjoy staying in and avoiding crowds. We are also selling gift certificates so guests can wait until they feel it’s the right time to book. Check out these gift certificate packages.
Note: all gift certificate special offers end Dec 24.
We have a fun special offer for the readers on your Christmas shopping list who also might enjoy a stay at our B&B. (Or maybe you just want to get one for yourself?!) With the purchase of $200 or more of Ludington House gift certificates, we will add a $25 coupon to the Book Mark, our book store here in town. The store carries a good selection of books including a section on local history and Michigan authors. They also have a coffee bar serving wonderful coffee or tea drinks. During this “COVID season” books can be purchased from the Book Mark online and picked up curbside (or enter the store to shop wearing masks). The same for coffee and tea drinks. Once the books are in hand, guests are welcome to “cozy up” to the fireplace in our parlor or, if they prefer, enjoy the solitude of their guest room. We’ll provide some comfy (and clean) lap blankets and our homemade cookies to make them feel even more at home. To take advantage of this special offer click the link below and type the code “Read2020” in the message area of the form. Check the box that says, “Mail Gift Certificate to the shipping address:” Or phone your order in at 800 827 7869. We will mail the certificates to the shipping address.
Note: all gift certificate special offers end Dec 24.
The last two years we were part of the West Michigan Christmas Cookie Tour. Eight inns participated and guests went from inn-to-inn collecting cookies. Since COVID cancelled those plans I thought I would post a recipe from 2018’s tour. Bob made miniature hot cocoa cups. The hot cocoa is chocolate ganache and the cups are sugar cookies with a pretzel handle. So cute and very tasty! Oh, and just so you know, we have the cookie tour on the calendar for Dec 3-5, 2021!
New Year’s Eve will be a bit different in town this year. The Ludington House is open and taking reservations. However the ball drop and fireworks will not be happening in the town square. At the moment restaurants are take-out only. We welcome guests to enjoy take-out in the parlor or their guest room. A virtual ball drop along with entertainment by local artists and musicians will take place on facebook.
And if COVID is less threatening later in the year we’ll be doing these events:
