Ludington’s 150th Anniversary Special
Tee Time!
How about a little (or a lot) of golf during your next trip? Ludington has three courses open to the public and there are two others in nearby Manistee. To help you plan your golf-cation here are descriptions of the local courses.
Hemlock Golf Club
It has been said that a great golf course must have 18 truly memorable holes. It should both challenge and reward all levels of golf ability. And it should be visually stimulating—with natural beauty that works in harmony with its surroundings.
All of this is what you will find at the award winning design of Hemlock Golf Club. A spectacular setting that features rolling topography, unspoiled wetlands, deciduous and evergreen forests, and unique sand dune formations.
Hemlock Golf Club is a “must play” course for all types of golfers.

Manistee Golf and Country Club
On the shores of Lake Michigan, you will find a 100+ year old gem in the world of golf. Golfers will find views of the lake and harbor from many vantage points, however, holes 3, 4, 12, 13, 14 and 15 are located on the bluff directly overlooking lake Michigan. The holes feature a distinctive Links character. As with most links courses, the breeze felt off Lake Michigan, can become variable and will be a challenge to any skill level golfer. At a total length of 5,614 yards, don’t be fooled by the short length by today’s golf standards, as many well appointed water hazards, bunkers and undulation in the terrain will require a keen eye for course management and quality iron play.

Manistee National Golf and Resort
Get ready to play fabulous traditional-style golf on our Canthooke Valley Course. The rolling fairways here are planted in Kentucky bluegrass that sets your ball up high for easy contact. The layout, done by Michigan architect Gary Pulsipher in 1993, meanders through hardwoods and a white pine forest. While Canthooke lies on sandy soil, Cutters’ Ridge has a more clay-like soil. The fairways as well as the greens at Cutters’ Ridge are paved with bentgrass. While Cutters’ Ridge also has stunning trees, its major distinctions are the marsh and wetlands on this site.
