What Our Guests Say...

Welcome to the Ludington House Bed and Breakfast

Our home was built by Antoine Cartier, a lumber baron. He had come to the Ludington area from Quebec in 1852 to seek his fortune and in 1878 built this magnificent home for his wife, Eliza and their nine children.

The house is a three story Victorian set on a beautiful landscaped corner lot with ample off-street parking. We are conveniently located a short walk from Lake Michigan, quaint shops, many fine restaurants and the Pere Marquette harbor. Our location is ideal for the many activities available on the wonderful west coast of Michigan.

We invite you to stay at the Ludington House and enjoy our herringbone patterned hardwood floors, gorgeous carved cherry and golden oak woodwork, 12-foot ceilings, fascinating brass light fixtures that once were gas, our walnut staircase to the third floor, Italian marble fireplace and beautiful stained glass windows.   The charm of Ludington's bygone era awaits you.

   Your hosts,

   Kris & Bill Stumpf, Innkeepers

LUDINGTON AREA

Ludington is truly the land of the Great Lake. Lake Michigan and its beautiful, sandy beaches and rolling sand dunes cannot be compared with any other place. The S.S. Badger, the largest carferry on the lake, sails daily to Wisconsin.  Quaint shops, unique galleries, water sports of all kinds combined with the flowers of spring or the fantastic autumn colors await you.
THE FOOD

Start your morning with a freshly prepared hot breakfast such as apple cinnamon French toast, quiche, or a strata with fresh fruit and muffins. Our own Ludington House special blend of coffee, which is made in a French press, is exceptional. If you are a sleepyhead, a continental breakfast is available until 10:30.
